Online discrimination
Hello, everyone. I have not been here in a while, but I am back to give everyone an update: I feel as though I am being discriminated against by at least one online company. The main company I am referring to is a very large and popular gaming company known as Jagex Ltd. I feel they have wrongfully punished me. They took away my ability to talk on RuneScape, which is one of their most popular online games. They call this muting. And it only gets worse: They have two types of muting on there...Temporary and permanent. Unfortunately, my muting was permanent. It happened nearly a year ago. Then, a couple weeks ago, one of my friends told me that Jagex was giving people a second chance to repent for breaking the rules of their games. So, I did this on May 17th, 2009. It is now June 3rd, 2009. And my appeal has been PENDING since May 17th! What the heck is taking Jagex so long? I had written a very well-thought-out message to them, even though I did not intentionally break their web site rules.
Here is the message I wrote to them: I was only trying to be nice to the guy I was talking to. I did not mean to upset him. But he apparently thought I was trying to meet him in person. But I wasn't. So, please unmute me. I would greatly appreciate it and I will continue to follow the rules. Thank you very much for understanding. And I am a very nice person and I don't want to scare anyone on here or upset anyone. I promise not to scare or upset anyone else in the future. I also promise not to insult anyone. Thank you for giving me a second chance. I have been waiting a long time for this...
It seems to me that Jagex is INTENTIONALLY taking their time to review and accept my appeal! To me, this is discrimination. And they should not have made my mute permanent, because it was the only time they had ever taken action against my account. I feel that this should be brought to anyone's attention who knows about massive online games and forums, such as RuneScape, Jagex, and other similar games and their forums.
Any kind of support on this topic would be appreciated.
