Why am i not allowed to express my views in public

why is it i cant go back to my x-b.f. house? it is b/c i go into it with his dad about the gay marriage ban in California and that its so wrong that what he said and when he said they it was wrong i was like whoa back it up love is love they love who they want then he was like its wrong it isn't the way god intended. I was like god loves us for who we are he doesn't judge why should we. then he asked what my church believed, i said one of the most active couples are lesbian and we don't care he then said then you don't go to a church if they don't say that it's wrong.

This came from a preacher. What the heck are they supposed to teach us to love one another not hate

I totally agree love is love. It doesn't care about race or gender.

i know right my dad aunts and uncles are in love with someone they love but aren't allowed to marry wtf... veterans fight for all our rights but the government can take away that right that is so messed up

Yes, I agree with you that "love is love", however, in the eyes of the Church, the Bible, and God, being gay, is flat out a sin. A church that is willing to go and bless gay unions, is not doing the work God intended. In the Bible, Jesus "healed" gays just as he healed lepers. He turned them from the path of sin, to the path of righteousness. People may be born gay, but that doesn't mean that they have to follow through with all the temptations that lifestlye brings. I'm not saying that they should fake it, and pretend to be straight, and get married and have babies, if two gay people fall in love, that's wonderful, they should have a civil union if they want one.

I strongly believe that a marriage that is performed by a priest, should be between a man and a woman, as it is meant to be. Two men or two women cannot get married and have babies naturally. It's not the way that God or nature intended it to be.

I respect your values, and I do see and understand your side of the argument, I don't believe that just because you go to a church with gay or lesbian couples, means you don't go to a good church, and I certainly don't believe that they should be discriminated against. I don't have a problem with the government allowing gays to marry, but I do have a problem with people trying to force the Christian community to allow gay marriages to be blessed. The church should not have to change with the times. We have to change for the church in order to be more like God.

sometimes you meet people who dont agree with you, people are people, people who dont believe in gay love will believe in at just as much as people are in love and are gay will believe its meant to be. its everyones right to have an opinion, you have your and he has his, and thats ok for the both of you. my moral is people are people. accept and respect, no matter what.

i completely agree. i've met people who are completely against it and i think they are wrong. gender or race shouldn't matter if it's love. oh well. accept and move on.

I agree. People who are against it are wrong. My best friend is gay and i support him 100%. Love is love.

I don't the church should be your whole life. Your life is yours and your decisions and choices are yours. No one can make you do anything. Your entitled to your own beliefs about the world and issues in it.

Well I agree with you,it should be live and let live but in the bible it states man should not bed down with another man.But how accurate is the bible?People marry every day and hated each other from the very first day they got married, when they get angry they throw things at each other and yet this is their belief about gay men,and they call their marriage normal.lol not much left to the imagination.

This is the reason I don't like going to church. I am bi-sexual and feel very uncomfertable at church.

i am too. i am not accepted at home school or church. i took my gf to church one day and we were actually told we werent allowed to sit with the youth group. we were taken to the back of the sancuary and they preached about homosexuality, and how its an abomination. the pastor told me if i ever brought my gf back they would tell my mom. and my mom knowsbut is ashamed of it. my lil sis told these grls at church that i was bi and that i was engaged to a girl. the grls then went to the pastor and said that i make them feel uncomfortable, i should not be allowed back, the pastor flipped out on me sayin that they told her that i talk about it all the time. and if it continues i wnt b allowed. so im done but just the judging and the hate idc who it is it needs to stop

A church has the right to teach the bible as they think is right, God will someday judge them, YOU have the right to not go to church, and God will judge you also someday, you dont have to go to church to be christian, you can study the bible and ignore what verses you want and live by the verses you want, But if you believe there is a God then you will be judged, so dont blame the church or the messengers, blame your lack of faith instead, in the above statements i have read a lot of judging going on.

Marriage is not all about having babies, I am Gay and I am proud of it. One of our family friends is a minister and when she found out I was gay she was like, so why are you telling me this. I could care less who you take to bed with you.

It was awesome, I am christian, i do believe that there is a god, but I also believe the bible, which was written by man, is wrong. Being gay is NOT a sin and god does NOt hate "Fags."

I know that the bible says that we shouldn't be LGBT but it doesn't mean we should push away those who are. it's their choice and there's nothing we can o. I'm glad New York passed the law. Everyone deserves their freedom!

This priest or whatever is wrong. Who cares what God says, not everyone in America believes in God or the Bible, why should we make laws based off it? This is a democracy, not a theocracy. As for it goes against nature, that's also false. Over 450 species have exhibited homosexual behavior.

@SouthernBelle0761 The church does change for the times.

"Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says." (1 Corinthians 14:34)

"But if ... evidences of virginity are not found for the young woman, then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones..." (Deuteronomy 22:20,21)

"If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched." (Mark 9:43)

"One of illegitimate birth shall not enter the congregation of the Lord." (Deuteronomy 23:2)

"Slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ." (Ephesians 6:5)

"Slaves, obey your human masters in everything; don't work only while being watched, in order to please men, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord." (Colassians 3:22)

"Slaves are to be submissive to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking back ." (Titus 2:9)

"Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel. " (1 Peter 2:18)

Q:

Why is it that we take the verse about homosexuals literally and whole-heartedly yet we overlook the ones about sexism, slavery, murder of impure women, segregation of illegitimately born people and self-mutilation?

A:

That's right, because times have changed and the church has changed with them.

Love whomever you would like to love and don't let anyone tell you different.

My family left our church because the priest was telling us to vote against gay marriage. I stopped going to the church group because my individual group leader told the group that being gay is a sin. And as for the "It's unnatural! It's not right!" opinion: that was the opinion about people of other races once, was it not? But I know people that have that opinion about homosexuals, but would probably beat a person up if they said it about a race. Tell me how it's any different. One is just a bit more socially accepted (not by me, though!) Also, excuse me for being a musical theatre, but I'm going to quote "Bare" (I've never seen it, but I've read some of the lyrics, as well as the synopsis): "God Don't Make No Trash". If you don't know it, look it up. :D

Love is love is love is love. Who cares if u love someone who is also in your gender. Your right god loves us for who we are. Gay marriage should definitely be accepted by everyone
