shipping items overseas!?

I am curious how those of you who start projects which collect various items, clothing, food, etc. manage to ship them to the places you want to help especially those which are overseas. I want to start a project to help send clothing and toys to young children possibly in Africa but I dont know where exactly i would address all of these packages or exactly how to go about the shipping. I am new here, any ideas?

I would suggest you find the sources for your donations, recruit helpers, research an organization that you could donate the articles to, or that can give you information regarding addresses, and then raise money! Good Luck
