Should the government set aside money for cancer research?

The Caroline Pryce Walker Childhood Cancer Act was just approved by the president. It states that the government will provide some financing to find a cure for childhood cancer. Is this the job of the government or for non-profits?

Read about it here.

i think that this is one of Bush's few good calls. it is important that the government set aside money for research like this.

Absolutey. If we just gave up, we would not be a compassionate country. If that money wasn't alotted for cancer-research, it would probably go to something ridiculous anyway.

I think any government should do what they can to better the lives of the citizens!
