Think you can stamp out crime? Prove it!

L.A. City Council Rep Eric Garcetti wants your help in preventing and curbing crime. He’s asking young people to list the top three programs they think would have the greatest impact on improving public safety in your community.
Share your ideas and DoSomething.org will make sure they get to Eric.
I'm not aware of such action and/or organization in Orange County. I'm very eager to start some kind of project that raise awareness of how dangerous joining a gang group can be and how to stay out of it. I'm thinking of asking for some police officers to go to schools, talk with students, and show pictures of gang related crimes.
Please help me with ideas, information resources, and guidance. Thank you very much.
