they do it because they have nothing better to do. they dont realize that it hurting a dog and it going to make the dog un happy for the rest of their lives. and when they bust them they will have to be put down. it is so sad.

Well some people only think about money and dont think about what they are hurting. Either that or they dont have a consince. or both. so the best thing to do is to through there tails in jail where they belong.

I asked myself the same thing until I watched an expose on dogfighting. and what they said is that most dogfighting happens in the ghetto or poor parts of the city, because they cant afford to go to sporting events or concerts or such. All we can do is report dogfighting, help at animal shelters and just volunteer with the police dept and animal control until dogfighting is eliminated. it breaks my heart because I work in the ghetto or poor part of nashville and I see abused animals all the time. All i can do is call the animal shelter because as much as i want to I cant pick all of them up and take back to my apartment. .So i strongly recommend all animal lovers help in whatever way u can. it is sad that people still praise Micheal Vick for what he did. I believe dogfighting is murder and I am shocked that Vick is already out of jail and playing again., If you are a true animal lover, you will NOT SUPPORT MICHEAL VICK OR WHATEVER TEAM HE PLAYS ON.
why would people intentionally want to hurt or kill a dog i say they just do it for the money and dont care about the dogs health and i also ask myself this question alot too. i remember one time traveling and i dont think the rest of my family saw but i was in a neighborhood that wasnt the nicest passing through and i saw a short glimpse of a dog fight and believe me when i say that short few seconds made me not sleep for at least 2 days im not gonna put details about it because even the clean version if you put it is gruesome.and i cant believe no one in the neighborhood reported this maybe there afraid.i watch animal planet and sometimes they have those dogfight documenteries or something like that and i cant believe how people would incourage the dogs to rip eachother apart basicly! for what to gain $20? if you ask me the authorities need to step in and patrol the areas where dogfights been called in more because just because bob down the street got caught doesnt mean bobby can get away with it 2-3 weeks later!! and also when dogfighters go to jail they should be punished the way they punished the dogs! put em in a tiny cell with the same amenities they offered there dogs make them watch videos of dogs fighting till it becomes programmed in there brains and they cant sleep at night because no animal needs to suffer what they put em through every dog is born into this world to give love not hate and defintley not want to kill every dog they see! and for michael vick i hope someone hits him sooooooooooooooooooooo hard he goes into acoma!!! just because hes an nfl player doesnt mean he deserves special treatment.i dont care how good he is to me hes just another low life person who deserves nothing but hate! and thats my view on dogfighting
Because they are stupid idots on drugs and will do anything for entertainment and i really hate that they cant find something more productive to do with there time and it really pees me off that they think nothing for hurting them one day im going to lock them in a cage and throw a bag of meth for them to fight over
People do it as a means to make money and because for some there is a certain adrenaline thrill to it. Humans have been doing these things for ages, and even with other humans (kick boxing, duels, etc). I'd hate to say it, but interest in dog fights is the barbaric side to humanity fully emerging that finds entertainment in such violence. It's wrong, but some people don't even see the wrong in it because of human nature. Granted, I'm not a fan of boxing either because of the violence, and I'm aware that it's entertainment for a lot of people. I'm trying not to neccessarily put boxing down, but more compare that thrill to the thrill of dogfighting or any other kind of animal endangerment activity. People that really love that thrill and that can't find or train boxers... well, it's either videogames or they use dogs. And, to them, the animals not human and can't say no so they'll go all the way to win. No tap-outs or k.o., just death. It's colloseum stuff that just makes your stomach churn and your heart break.

There are many highly disturbed people in the world. Generally, they have had some form of abuse happen to them that causes them to feel the need to abuse others. It is heartbreaking. Whether it is a human or animal being abused, it is not okay by any means. (The book Oogy is a prime example of how disgusting dogfights really are. Don't read if you can't handle descriptions of animal abuse.) I feel that every action causes a chain reaction- if those who abuse their children cease, then their children will not go on to fund dogfights. And this would make a happier world.
Sidenote: I cannot believe that Michael Vicks was allowed out of jail and right back onto the football field. It shows the world that animals do not have rights... had he been doing anything even REMOTELY close to this to humans, he would never be allowed to set foot near the stadium. Yet because of his fame and football prowess, all is forgiven. Despicable.
