Your first election

DoSomething recently asked you what you were doing for the upcoming election. A whopping number responded:
- 24% said you were voting (remember: not all respondents are 18)
- 30% said you were nagging everyone you knew to go out and vote
- And 43% said you were doing more than one of the above
November 4th is your day. Tell us what you've done and intend to do. Did you vote? If you couldn't, who would you vote for if you were old enough? What are your thoughts on this historic election? And what are your hopes for the new president?

I'll be voting tomorrow.
I did what Usher told me to do in his PSA: I talked to everyone I know about registering and voting -- and the reasons I think that my candidate of choice should be elected (though my parents disagree with my choice, my grandmother agrees with me!).
I have a VOTE! button on my bag.
I've watched all of the debates except for the first one.
Basically, I hope the Do Something generation shows what we're made of tomorrow -- you're right, this is OUR election!
Thank you for all of your help, Do Something -- the info on where the candidates stand on the issues was so helpful and I used it to show my friends what's up with Obama and McCain.
So for the election, last year the Do Something Club at my school put together an assembly which was set up like a mock debate. We targeted senior students, who are able to vote in this election. We just wanted to get the issues out there and spread awareness.
Now, I am just doing my best to remain knowledgeable of what is going on with the candidates. We talk a lot about the election in school; particularly making sure the facts are true and looking past propaganda, which is really helpful. I try to look at all the issues but particularly ones that will have a direct impact on me. I think that its great to be active in the election even though I can't vote because this is going to determine the president of our home!
We held a mock election at our school where the entire student received phamplets that detail the candidates' policies and several propositions. The entire student body voted and later that week, results were broadcasted over the intercom. It was close! Obama pulled through in the end. I felt really comfortable with the issues being discussed because in English class, my fabulous english teacher had us analyze the campaign speeches, go online to examine the issues and watch the debates.
One of my friend is missing school tommorrow and working at a ballot box. Lucky her!
Also at my school we had a mock election with mock "media." It seems like everyone had the "X" on each hand which meant you voted. Although I can't vote yet, I organized several debates of supporters of the candidates which was a big hit. Also, I was involved in a round table discussing the california prop 8 for gay marriage which really go everyone thinking.
this was my first election! it was so exciting- i voted absentee since i go to school in a different state than my home, so i really voted about a week and a half ago. i'll be honest, in high school i wasn't involved at all in politics but it felt really awesome to know what was going on this time. and, i'm definitely trying to get the word out about how important voting is.
I am proud to say that I voted. As a writer, I also covered the candidates for youth... and I consulted Do Something for a lot of my info. Thanks so much for doing such a fabulous job in your Meet the Candidates series! Rock on!
Voted and proud! Now it's time to watch it all go down.
I joined a facebook group last week to support the american election.
this will hopefully start a whole new revolution for young voters! lets not lose our energy
