Rapper / Entertainer Bow Wow, Miss South Carolina State University Uchechi Egbuhuzo, and political activist Dwayne Skinner tell the youth of Orangeburg, SC to get out and vote in the upcoming election.

What is a Mouth without a Voice?
What is freedom without a choice?
We have been given an ultimate gift, but yet we do not use it
A paved pathway, however we refuse it
We sing and we rap about our problems, with disdain we complain
However when given the opportunity to turn our reactions into action, we sit back and we refrain.
Now, I’m not going to speak to those that came before us that suffered, bled, and died
Or the ones who were lied to, tricked, disenfranchised, and ruled ineligible when they tried
Or those that were not granted the right due to their sex or their gender
Or those prior to 1972, who had to go to war at age 18 but couldn’t vote until they turned 21
But I will, talk about you
About us
About Youth
About the 69 million of us between the ages of 18 and 24 that have a voice, and have been given an opportunity to make that voice heard.
In 2004 in the United States less than half of us turned out to the polls, and in South Carolina only 44% of this age group.
Now imagine if half was acceptable in other parts of life
Half of our paycheck, half on an exam, half of all of our free time
We have got to do better
We have the opportunity, the ability, and capacity to change the rest of time.
We have the power to clean up the Financial Markets
We have the power to lower gas prices
We have the power over foreign policy
We have the power to create a better tomorrow
However that power is not in what we say or even what we choose to believe in
That power comes on November the 4th when we exercise the pen
