Project: Strings with Wings
For Strings with Wings, Arielle has organized a group of fellow musicians who will travel to Mexico this June to run a Violin workshop for the children of Saltillo, Mexico. The camp will culminate in a bi-lingual theater performance that Arielle plans to perform in Mississippi and Texas upon her return.

Project: Children Helping Children
Children Helping Children--Saving Lives Through Music which was started by Jourdan at age 9. Children helping Children’s mission is to raise funds for national medical organizations, hospitals and cutting edge research targeting neurological disease. Jourdan helps to inspire and empower young philanthropists and musicians to raze the neurological diseases of our time by presenting benefit “concerts for a cure” all across the globe—saving lives through music.

Project: Arts as a Vision for Change

Led by Linda, Arts as a Vision for Change brings together community and student organizations together to talk about their vision for Richmond High School and the community at large. These discussions will then be translated into student-designed and painted murals that represent this vision for change and hopefully begin the process of creating change. The project is bringing together a diverse coalition of groups, including Gay Straight Alliance, Amnesty International, Muralistas, Black Student Union, and Alma Latina to beautify a school that students can feel proud of, and bring color onto a campus that has no windows.

Project: Project KINDNESS
Project KINDNESS which stands for Kids In Need Deserve New Elementary School Supplies. Stevie founded this effort to help other kids that are sometimes forgotten. Stevie organizes supply collections and then donates the supplies to impoverished schools in and around Arcadia, Florida. Since 2005, Project KINDNESS has donated school supplies to the incoming kindergarten class, read to the kindergartners, brought juice and cookies in the Spring, and delivered holiday gifts to over 1,000 deserving students.

Project: East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP)
East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP), which is a student-run free clinic serving the uninsured residents of East Harlem. East Harlem ranks in the bottom quarter of New York City neighborhoods when it comes to having a regular doctor, being tobacco-free, keeping heart-healthy, knowing HIV status, getting help for depression, living free of alcohol and drugs, making the home safe and healthy, and having a healthy baby. The East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership helps combat those problems as well as brings the community together.

Project: Carts for the Homeless
CFTH will provide homeless people with a functioning, durable cart with features such as a pull out tarp for rain, a water basin, and a lockable mechanism so their belongings are not stolen, all designed with their lifestyle in mind. These carts will be a huge advance in quality of life for the homeless people of Los Angeles with a one time only request for assistance. Their vision is to create a significant difference in the life of a homeless person, by providing them with reliable solutions to all the basic needs that are so difficult to meet when living on the streets.

Project: I Love Life
James is hosting a Suicide Prevention Month at his high school, including a kick-off assembly, concert, a fund-raising dance, and speakers from a teen suicide awareness organization. The concert will help in the raising of money for the Second Wind Fund which will demolish the barriers between a teen in need and the help that teen requires thus creating a powerful atmosphere to aid in the student body’s willingness to accept and listen to the speakers to come.

Project: The eXchange (Cape Town-East Palo Alto Music Program).
The eXchange project aims to connect two groups of students living in less than ideal conditions in Cape Town, South Africa and Palo Alto, California. Music will be exchanged between the two in an attempt to bridge borders and cultural divides to create mutual understanding as well as developing the artistic abilities and self expressions of these two groups of students.

Project: Alpaca Paper Service
The Alpaca Paper Service which is run and operated by developmentally disabled adults who want to work jobs that let them meet and interact with people in their community. This newspaper delivery service provides a great service to the community while allowing these developmentally disabled adults to make money and retain a sense of self-worth. One of the founding members, Chester believes that by creating small business he can help break the stereotypes of employment that are usually offered to DD adults.
