Our small town of Granby, CT is a rural-type suburb and we are donating to and trying to educate the public about adoption vs. buying pets, spay and neuter, indoor cats, leash laws, puppy mills, etc. We hope to be able to make a difference in the lives of pets with our friends, have fun. A fundraiser party is tentatively scheduled for the summer and events will not end with summer vacation.

One day I was walking through the streets of Boston and decided I should blow my nose. Nobody wants to carry around a tissue full of snot in their pockets so the next logical action was to find a trash can to slam dunk my tissue in. After five blocks I didn't see a single trash can. At this point many people would throw it on the ground but I was determined to find a trash can even if it took me ten blocks. After my fourteenth block I finally found a trash can. This is when it hit me. The reason why people litter so much is not because they hate the environment but because they don't have the patience to carry around their trash. Have you ever seen someone litter when they were standing next to a trash can? Probably not, because if they are going to throw it they might as well throw it in the trash. I think that everyone should have there own trash can that they customize and put out for public use. Then no one would have an excuse to litter. You can paint your name on your trash can or you can put points on the side and paint it to look like a basket ball hoop! You can have a trash can that says "Kyle + Sarah Forever", or you and your buddies can write an inside joke on it! They would be works of art and they would catch everyones eye who passed by. Famous artist would sculpt there own trash cans to look like volcanos, businesses could advertise for free on them! Trash cans could be used as memorials for a lost pet, or a way to let someone know about a missing person! How cool would it be to be able to say. "Hey look there's my trash can, I did that with my first grade class ten years ago!"

I am starting a praise dance team, that practices at New Covenent Church Intl. This helps people build their self confidence, happiness and friendship.

My roommate and I wanted to raise awareness about organic food and the importance of sustainability. We wanted to make it fun though. We decided that instead of hosting a bake sale or organizing a protest, we would invite our friends over for a dinner party featuring all locally-grown and organic foods. We invited a few farmers to join in on the dinner party and talk about where the food came from and the difference between organic food and non-organic food. All the guests came for free, but they had to promise to host a similar dinner party for their friends. In a month, our one month dinner party of 10 people turned into 7 more dinner parties affecting 90 people!! It was a huge success and everyone told us how fun and informative the whole experience was. I'll definitely do it again soon.

Spring Break conjurs up fun in the sun, kick back from school work, adventure and travel for most high school kids. Welcome to the Montemorelos, Mexico Spring Break Mission! Its all of the above, with sweat, dirt and a great sense of accomplishment.

For the last 2 spring breaks, I have lead a team of students in figuring out how to build a church in Montemorelos- a vey poor community outside of Monterrey. With religion so entertwined with daily life, the church is the community center of this small town. The town does not have the resources to build a nearby church, forcing folks to walk many miles for worship, comfort, hope, friendship. Learning how to fix things at home with my Dad and my focus on engineering and math I was able to direct students on how to literally construct the walls- mixing cement, measuring and cutting beams, doing finish work etc.

Along the way, we taught English to local children, played soccer with cloistered nuns and developed a sense of family with the townspeople. They were thrilled to see the walls go up, feeding us during the day to give us strength. While building one church may not have global impact, it represents one small step in changing a community. If everyone could take one small step in every community, we could truly benefit the world.

While on a trip to Argentina last year, Blake had a vision to put shoes on children's feet around the world. To date, TOMS Shoes has given away 10,000 pairs to children in Argentina and is preparing to give 50,000 pairs in South Africa.

The Corporation of Aftershock

There will be a day when all who had believed will be taken up but before we go we shall serve!

Greetings from the Aftershock Corporation, I Dick Static assure you as investors of the new Information Age there has been no other gathering of kids like this before. The new spacious pirate ship named The Aftershock will dominate Manatee County’s youth’s, churches, outreaches (including a refuge), schools, and many young adults. With a ship approximately 100ft by 30ft long extending three stories high, every adult and kid will have a no greater escape from the ways of society’s burdens. We the Aftershock Corporation, promote a clean safe environment equipped with all the latest technology of gaming systems, board games, and an ignored generation of kids and young adults. With the music blasting at every floor, the ship shall be followed by crowds of gamers, partier's, and skeptics. The Aftershock Corporation originally alleged to only online gamers is now expanding to the real world. The Aftershock Corporation has had a reputation of loyal gamers online who have spent many years winning tournaments.

Many similar companies have made stores identical to ours but what separates Aftershock from these companies is our vision of meeting a high demand of inactive kids. Aftershock has a three part combo to obtaining maximum profits while assuring huge investment profit returns to all its notorious investors. Our goal is clear, we promise to assure Manatee County officials’, outreaches, schools, and retreats a safe positive message that God is in control of our nation. A clear sound drug free policy prohibits any form of alcohol or any other drug from ever entering our ship.

A simple dividend between stories prevents each customer from being forced or pressured to conforming to a faith. We will not tolerate discrimination against the Jewish, Catholic, Muslim, Christian, or any other faith. Due to the diversity of faiths in order to prevent disagreement or confrontation, we have made between the first two floors and the third story a barrier from just gaming and playing, to hearing the Gospel. The Gospel we preach upstairs we feel is the only hope to freeing enslaved addicts of drugs, victims of abuse, pressure to have sex by the dive by media, and many other harmful influences. We also provide supplies to give to the homeless by addressing all the possibilities of serving our community including but not limited to our young children, parents, teenagers, young adults and older ages. We give moral support to single mothers, dads, and family members with alcoholic or unfair disadvantages preventing children or teens from attending school. Aftershock has provided parents a place to leave there kids while working.

The community of Manatee County is begging for a place other then a bar or a club. Many homeless people lack food and clothing by which Aftershock will help donate to. Many young adults after they are forced out of their house have made many mistakes whether it is consuming massive amounts of alcohol, or giving into sexual confrontations. It is a shame Manatee County has a rapidly growing amount of homeless young adults such as these live in survival on our streets. Even those who choose the club rather then their church are reaching out for hope by which will never be found in alcohol or so called ‘love’. The teens will have a place to stay for less then a week to recuperate, gather their thoughts, and hopefully come back to their parents without causing strife. The other option is to team with Counselors to America's Small Business Organization (S.C.O.R.E.)which also supports organizations that adopt kids. Aftershock will provide jobs for adults past 16 depending on current state laws. Four evenly spaced bedrooms including a kitchen will be built from your funds allotted from charities and grants.

Aftershock is more then just a corporation. Though profitable we use this as our advantage to use our own income eventually to donate to the public by specifically supporting desperately needed funds towards pregnancy centers and anti-abortion programs alike. We identify that like abortion, many young adults make misguided decisions because of society’s negative media. As a result, we only play music that has a positive message while also assuring a rock solid message of hope on the third floor. Manatee County has no other place besides bars and clubs. The Aftershock Corporation refuses to accept this as a norm for Florida. Aftershock will no longer wait on other entrepreneurs or our government to build a center of hope. We seek only minimum amount of funds from the Federal Government in the understanding that our corporation is supported by many investors, company commissioners, and many charitable sources from different donators.

My project started when my band was rehearsing one evening: As usual, all of my friends came to my warehouse I rented to hear the band play. We called this little haven the "Shed Shed"; It was a safe place for my friends to be after school and a good place to have a jam room. After this particular practice, my friend Alexis asked if I could teach her how to play the drums. I taught her the basics and sure enough, she was a natural. I told her [jokingly] that if she kept up playing like that, she'd end up replacing me in the band. I never had seen her smile that big. I felt really good inside that night, and I realized that she had never known that she had a talent for the drums. I began to wonder how many people have talent, but just don't have the time or equipment to try new things. Within that week I put up fliers around the school advertising the Shred Shed. We were already a fairly well known band, and my campaign pushed into popularity. Sure enough, more and more people started to come to the Shred Shed not only to hear music, but to explore their own creativity. I provide free lessons and we always let someone stand in for a song or two. Being in the school drum line and in theatre arts, I never knew how many kids never picked a drum sticks up or expressed themselves. It's been about a nine months since I started this project, and I feel a sense of achievement knowing that I not only helped my piers explore their creativity, but provided a safe spot for us to be ourself and escape the stresses of school or social problems. Everybody seemed to belong and fit in at Shred Shed. Even though we started as just a small band, I feel like we have been creating something very special within the community. Every month, we pay the rent for the warehouse, and lately money has been scarce. We might have to close the Shred Shed if money doesn't come soon.

This is going to be a very in depth thing, though the day that it happens may not seem that hard to set up, but the ideas behind the event are important. It starts with myself, and any other recruits that I have helping myself in the cafeteria of my school, hosting 3500 students of more. You walk into the doorway of the cafeteria, or any of them being that there are numerous, and immediately you look down and see 16 paper-cut outs of bodies taped to the ground, representing the 16 teenagers that die everyday from automobile related accidents. They all lead to a long table infront of a prominent wall of the cafeteria. Each body, lined up and spaced to the table, will have a different fact on it. Each fact will relay a stronger and stronger emotion to the reader, in other words will will have a greater meaning than the one before, until the reader ultimately arrives at the table where myself and a couple others will be sitting, and sees the giant poster behind the table saying "I will not become a statistic". The table will be covered in pins, wristbands, bumper-stickers and window clings, and other parafenalia, I dont know if that is spelled right, that represents KTD. Myself and my co-workers will relay the message of KTD and how the students can sign up at KTD.com to pledge their safe driving, but the main purpose of the event is the friend pledge sign-up. On the sign that says "I will not become a statistic" there will a lot of other space, a lot, for groups of friends to sign, or even just individuals. Signing the poster is a pledge to be a safe driver for your friends and your family. But we will encourage signing in groups of friends because of the great impact friendships have on individuals during highschool. It is a simple promise declaring that if you care about your life, your friends or your family, you will be a safe driver, and not become one of the 16 teenagers that dies everyday. To entice students to start signing, the first 15 students from every lunch period to sign the poster will recieve a free t-shirt with a KTD emblem, and Text that says "I will not become a statistic". We will pass out free key chains, and wristbands, etc. to all. This is where the 500 dollars would be needed. The tshirts would be 500 dollars for about 50-60 tshirts, somewhere in that ballpark, and the more tshirts I could get the better, highschoolers like t-shirts. I have all the other supplies, but I would be ordering the tshirts from customink.com. The only thing that might change about this event, is that I might have to do it outside because so many kids are going outside for lunch because of the weather.
