Saving Education

It will motivate students to keep education going and not letting any interference come in between. Informing them that there is nothing like obtaining an education because that will lead them to success.

Eco-Roof

I go to Sandy High School in Sandy Oregon, and this year I took a trip with the Green Club at school into Portland to view some of the many eco-friendly green roofs installed on several large and small buildings throughout the city. There was even a middle school with an eco-garden. After the trip I was very impressed by how effective and efficient these green roofs are. Within the next four years we are supposed to have a new high school built, up and running. The blueprints and such are currently in the works, from what I know, and evidently the architecht is environmentally oriented.

Recycle Shaw

We have started a recycling program within our school. We have a big bin in our cafeteria and many small boxes throughout individual classrooms in the school. Every thursday we collect all of the materials and send them to the county recycler.

Young at Art Fashion Show

The first-annual Young at Art Fashion Show was designed to lure teenagers into a fun, yet educational experience. Volunteers participated in designing outfits from "trash", as well as modeling them in front of their peers. The materials used for the show were donated by numerous local companies. The goods included cloth, egg cartons, trash bags, etc. We were able to get local bands to play for free, and local supermarkets to also donate food and refreshments.
