Slum Kids

We are helping rural/tribal and slum community. We have our centres in 4 states of India having our head quarters in Bangalore.The main problem here in these community children is that they join school only for mid day meals and then they drop out.We want to provide an interesting evening centers for these children to learn what they learnt in the school and make the education more interesting. The education we think of here is the Alternative Education and not the conventional education.

This October, the Key Club of Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona, will host its second annual "Spooktacular for UNICEF," a Halloween-themed carnival that will raise money for UNICEF's service intiative, the Swazi Children Care Project.

Change for Change

Change for Change is a campaign brought on by HERO: a UNA-USA campaign. The HERO campaign is in partnership with the USAID. It is an awareness building and fund raising initiative dedicated to providing comprehensive, school-based support to orphans and vulnerable children living in HIV/AIDS-affected communities in Africa. UNA-USA stands for the United Nations Association of the United States of America. It is a center for innovative programs to engage Americans in issues of global concern.

HIV survivors youth exchange

This project is part of a larger initiative between Rwandan and United States based HIV/AIDS clinics working in consort to increase awareness of young life with HIV/AIDS worldwide. The aim is an exchange between youth leaders of each country with the hope that each will visit and learn about each others homes while acting as peer advocates of their representative groups at the same time. This is a very large project and my role in it would be a small but important one.

Africa Dream Project (ADP) exists to eliminate poverty and empower lives.

We are a not-for-profit group founded and run by students. As students, we understand the immense value of education. We also see the extreme poverty in our world. And so, ADP members utilize passion and education to empower otherwise highly vulnerable individuals who live amidst extreme poverty. In doing so, we give them a chance to overcome desperate conditions and positively impact our world!

It all started when I was fifteen --I sat in my careers classroom wondering, what can I do to create real change and make a difference? Now, the reason why I said ‘real change’ would be that, my high school is located blocks away from Toronto’s most violent, densely populated and extremely diverse community. I wanted to do something about an issue that was rarely or never discussed, due to stigma– HIV. I started to search the Internet, read tons of newspaper articles and spoke to all of my friends saying—I want to do something about this, can I count you in?

The original idea was conceived by a fellow friend, John Yturralde. Yturralde first began this project by having a school-wide school-supply drive in May 2007. He then donated the supplies to schools in Uganda as part of his missionary work in summer of 2007.
