Slum Kids

We are helping rural/tribal and slum community. We have our centres in 4 states of India having our head quarters in Bangalore.The main problem here in these community children is that they join school only for mid day meals and then they drop out.We want to provide an interesting evening centers for these children to learn what they learnt in the school and make the education more interesting. The education we think of here is the Alternative Education and not the conventional education.

Well over 3/4 of the AIDS cases in the world are in sub-Saharan Africa, in countries like Kenya. The people have come to believe "wives tales" such as using a condom won't prevent AIDS because the virus slips through tiny holes in condoms. Due to such stories, many, many people don't protect themselves at all!

Village Care- A trip to Africa

I will be going to Tanzania for two weeks with Village Care International to educate the community on HIV and AIDs and also to help orphaned children. We will be helping communities understand healthy living practices and spending time with the children orphaned due to AIDS.

As any good Rent fan knows, there are five hundred twenty-six thousand, six-hundred minutes in the year of a life. But the rock musical has raised way more than that in its 12 years on Broadway for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS -- approximately $2.8 million to date.

Now they're asking Rent-goers to help them top $3 million before the show's last performance on the Great White Way this September.

Project Amani

The Amani Baby Cottage is home to over 50 children age 0-5 years old who have been orphanged due to AIDS or other extreme factors. ABC, located in Jinja, Uganda, is an orphanage run almost entirely by volunteers and the support of individual donors. Since Amani opened in 2003 they have had 131 children come through their doors. 48 of those children have been either reunited with extended family or placed in foster homes. 12 of the children have been placed in another ministry house (they can only stay until they are 5).

Mama Tina’s Resource Center seeks to meet the needs of impoverished children who have been orphaned or abandoned because of a variety of uncontrollable circumstances in Kisumu, Kenya. Mama Tina provides basic needs (food, shelter, education and health care) to these children. With these basic needs met these children will have an opportunity to become successful members and leaders of society.

Current projects that we are working on include:

• Providing housing & education to orphans (currently provided for 45+ children).

Dance Marathon

Six schools: Edison High School, Fountain Valley High School, Huntington Beach High School, Oceanview High School, Marina High School, and Westminster High School get together the first time ever to make a difference in the world.

On Friday, April 11th, 2008, Edison High School hosts the first ever, district wide, DANCE MARATHON in their gym from 6pm-Midnight to fight Pediatric AIDS!

There will be dancing, buffets, games, raffles, speakers, more dancing!

Admission into the event is $20, so come support the fight against AIDS by dancing today!

Spooktacular for UNICEF

This October, the Key Club of Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona, will host its second annual "Spooktacular for UNICEF," a Halloween-themed carnival that will raise money for UNICEF's service intiative, the Swazi Children Care Project.
