Shift The Tide is closing the information gap between the environmentalist movement and the Average Joe. Our goal is to create an accessible source for ideas about conservation and the small changes everyone can make to help keep the planet healthy.

The Moss Rock Preserve is one of the most unique and beautiful natural preserves in the United States. Home to acres of hardwood forest, the Preserve is the last substantial refuge for local wildlife. But The Preserve is much more than a sanctuary. The Preserve contains some of the best climbing in the Southeast, debatably the oldest known rock formations in the world, as well as several species of moss that are completely unique to the Moss Rock boulders.

I planned and organized a tree planting at a local park to help the environment by providing shade along the horse trail and picnic area and produce a greener, more happy and healthy atmosphere.

Mucking around with Wessie! It's volunteers rocking at Otterbein Lake! Volunteers put on their mud boots, hats, gloves: picked up their tools... and headed out for three Saturdays in a row to work for three hours each session. These Otterbein College students met up with other local Westerville volunteers at a giant pit in the ground. The eight-acre hole was once a farm field. As housing developments were made, the field turned into a source for landscape yards. After that, it filled with water.

Our club members read about global warming and how it happens, what can help stop it. We made signs for our school to remind kids about turning off the lights, recycling in the right containers, and we made public service announcements about "somethings we can do" to stop global warming.
