See It: The Community being helped
The Student Volunteer LINK(SVL) connects middle and high school student volunteers, community organizations and schools through a simple Internet portal. www.studentvolunteerlink.com is a website resource that is the first student-created, student-led organization in Connecticut that links community organizations with youth volunteers. To fulfill the SVL mission to increase youth volunteering and philanthropy, The SVL Shoreline Youth Summit will provide a one day forum for Connecticut youth leaders to discuss and develop ideas that will positively effect youth community involvement and to encourage young people to volunteer. During the SVL Shoreline Youth Summit, young people will connect with community leaders, non-profits and government officials to exchange ideas and perspectives on community involvement, examine how to plan and deliver effective volunteer projects, explore the actions to help ensure improved volunteering opportunities by expanding the capabilities of Student Volunteer LINK.
