Relay for Life

RM in a Jar

At my school we created a business that sold goods such as cookie mix and spices. All the money will be donated to the relay for life foundation, and also some members from my class will also walk in the race.

SHOcase of the Bands

SHOcase of the Bands is an event that brings the Schaumburg youth community together to educate them on the effects that cancer has on people's lives, through the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life, using entertainment as a medium. The Schaumburg High School club, Students Helping Others (SHO), receives demo tapes of possible bands in February, and they then determine which bands will participate in the show. Bands are then notified and they prepare for the show, making t-shirts that they can sell that will bring in extra profit for the American Cancer Society.

Titus Week

Relay for Life has always been one of our favorite causes, so we decided to initiate a project that involved the whole school in something we cared so much about. And what did we come up with? Titus Week! The principal at our high school's name is Mr.Titus and he's basically our own JRHS celebrity; everybody loves and admires what he has done. So, in honor of him, we created a week of school sprit and fundraisers to benefit RFL. We dedicated each day to a specific theme. For example, "Tie"-tus day was a day that everyone donned our principals attire (consisting of a tie).

Lauren Braman Dance

We would have a dance all in memory of a teen that passed away from cancer. All proceeds would go to the Scholarship fund set up in her memory. It would provide a safe environment for teens to let go and have fun.
