Well I guess our community is really the whole world. Anyone anywhere can go on the internet and look at any site. This is why business have websites, so people can find them anywhere. Well the problem is that non-profits cannot afford professional sites.

As our end of the year class project we dicided to take a deeper look at the availibility of steroids sold through the internet. We found out you can be any one, any age it is all annonymous. Our plan to STOP this problem is to create a program for the police to use and track/shadow online sales. If this goes through we will eventually find a way to use this program to track all drug sellers. We need this grant in order to make the program.

ClipAid.com was started in the November of 200. The way the site works is simple. We post videos, pictures, and other interesting content, and our raise funds through paid advertisements. The money earned through these advertisements than goes to support the United Nation’s World Food Program. The inspiration comes from FreeRice.com, a site where users can answer vocabulary questions and donate grains of rice for every question they correctly answer. At ClipAid, you donate for watching videos and pictures.

Free culture at NYU is a chapter of a national student movement exploring the nature of innovation in the context of American Copyright law and media distribution. Free Culture is dedicated to the promotion of thoughtful and progressive discourse and debate, as well as relevant social activism. We stand behind the principles of a “common sense” approach to intellectual property rights as presented by Lawrence Lessig in his book “Free Culture”. We hope to serve those members of the NYU community with an intent in preserving an open exchange of creative issues.

The mission of Safe Connects is to promote Internet literacy and to teach Internet safety and online etiquette to elementary and middle school children through an interactive workshop conducted by teen facilitators. The Safe Connects lesson plan and accompanying worksheets cover important topics such as Passwords, Chat Rooms, Computer Viruses, and Internet Predators.
