Krafty Kids is a non profit organization in Miami, Florida. Our group consists of four high school freshmen, but new members are always welcomed. We believe that every child should have a memory of making something creative with their own hands, because everyone deserves to enjoy their childhood. We plan out and preform activities with the children in Miami's hospitals and we also donate money to St. Jude Research Hospital.

Krafty Kids began as a class assignment but has turned into much more than that, and we need your help to help make our dream a reality. Our goal is to collect as many arts and crafts materials as possible so that we can take them over to Miami Children’s Hospital and Baptist Children’s Hospital and the children can enjoy the fun and enriching activities we have planned out for them.

As you may realize this is a very ambitious project and we can’t do it alone, that is why we are asking your store to please help and support this great cause. We are in need of materials such as construction paper, glitter, liquid glue, glue sticks, ribbon, markers, crayons, and scissors. If you are not able to donate any materials a monetary donation would also be greatly appreciated. Any contribution helps, you would be helping to bring smiles to many kid’s faces.

Beadnik offers creative and innovative do-it-yourself beading kits and beading classes. These kits provide all the supplies needed to make a beautiful piece of jewelry in one kit. These kits will be sold through the Beadnik website, local gift shops and hospitals. The beading classes will be taught at community centers and at hospitals for patients, family members, friends and visitors to make the stay more enjoyable.

I recorded 100 books onto CD's for the kids at my local homeless shelter. I also held five craft nights with my favorite books where I read the story aloud and did a fun craft with kids. In addition I ended up donating over 400 books to the shelter's library

While on a trip to Argentina last year, Blake had a vision to put shoes on children's feet around the world. To date, TOMS Shoes has given away 10,000 pairs to children in Argentina and is preparing to give 50,000 pairs in South Africa.

Style Your Sole is a great time for you and your friends to get together, express yourself through your own designs and support a good cause. Whether it is the theme of your party or a community building activity (youth group, sorority, birthday party), you and your friends are putting shoes on children’s feet somewhere around the world. Wear your originally designed TOMS and tell the story!

Do Something, Brooks! sponsored a "Twice as Nice" recycling contest. The challenge to the entire school was to create a work of art, a game, toy, craft, or anything else from recycled, reused materials. The goal was to think about and learn ways to reuse or recycle materials, instead of throwing things away. We challenged the school to go beyond, stretch their imaginations and inventive skills. At least 50% of the project had to be made of recycled materials. Entries were displayed in the LMC for a week. Do Something Captains were the judges and one winner was chosen from each grade level. Captains used a rubric to assess and decide on winners. Winners got a pizza lunch with 3 friends. 32 students participated and a good time was had by all!

Although Calista is too young to be an official Special Olympics volunteer, she has started her own heroic effort in the program. When she found out that our local Special Olympics program lost their largest fundraising event and was worried about having the funding to be able to take athletes to competitions, Calista came up with her own unique plan! She decided to make and sell crafts to help fundraise for the program. She also had a lemonade stand and bake sale. To date, she has spent over 400 hours making and selling her crafts and has raised $2024.00. She continues to make and sell her crafts every chance she gets! In addition to her fundraising, she donated 40 bowling picture frame magnets to be given out as awards at the Special Olympics bowling party!

Not only has she done all of this, but since the age of 5, she has helped out as much as she possibly can at all of the Special Olympics events she goes to. Whether it be keeping scores in bowling, timing during track and field, ball chasing during the softball throws and bocce or simply cheering on the athletes, she has been ready and willing to lend a helping hand!
