The idea I have is to start a youth center for high school students. Today's youth are often pulled into the negativity of society. Some of them lack sense of a true role model or fall into peer pressure. This center will give them the skills they need to become productive members of society. They will be able to learn social skills, get help with homework and enjoy recreation. It will provide them with a safe and secure environment.

In every community there is a need for help, you may not realize it but there is a way that you can make a difference. there are many solutions to lack of community centers or shelters and one of the solutions is for more people to get involved in the community activities that will allow these centers and shelters to be built.

My name is Brenda and in the next three months I hope to open The Foundation, a center focused on the youth in Hill County. We are basically starting with nothing and depend greatly on the donations of businesses and individuals in our community. Our mission is to provide the children in our county a safe place to learn and have fun. As you may or may not know, there are no recreation facilities in the Lake Whitney area, and there are many low income families as well.
