Krafty Kids

Krafty Kids is a non profit organization in Miami, Florida. Our group consists of four high school freshmen, but new members are always welcomed. We believe that every child should have a memory of making something creative with their own hands, because everyone deserves to enjoy their childhood. We plan out and preform activities with the children in Miami's hospitals and we also donate money to St. Jude Research Hospital.

I would like to start a sand volleyball tournament and cook out at the Band Shelter on 23rd Street in Bettendorf, Iowa this summer. There are two courts there, so we could have two pools of teams playing at once. The champion form each bracket would play in the end. ALL MONEY EARNED WOULD GO INTO BUYING TREES, which would be planted around the city. I am going to try to see if Wallaces Garden Center (or some other local garden center) will sell us trees for a discounted price. If possible, I also would like to hold a barbeque for any hungry people nearby.

AFA Benefit Concert

Inglemoor High School's clubs, Project Darfur and Amani (Peace) for Africa (AFA) are joining together to put on a benefit concert this May. The profits from the concert will benefit World Vision, and their work along with giving aid to a school in Tanzania. The concert will take place on May 30th, at El Corazon in Seattle. Band that have already committed are local groups, including Wimbleweather.

Fill-the-Bus

The student council of McKinney High School implemented in McKinney ISD a district wide project called “Fill the Bus”. The students of all elememtary middle and high schools donate new school supplies, and new/gently used backpacks and books. High school student council officers pick up donated school supplies from all of the schools throughout the district, in a big yellow school bus. We literally "fill the bus" with the donated supplies. Then the supplies are sorted and distributed to students who need them.

Students at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse decided to create this project to help disadvantaged children at Mungulu Odrade Orphanage in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo. They collected over 100 pairs of shoes that they are endeavoring to send to Congo. Almost 170 children at the orphanage will benefit from this initiative. Children need hope more than anything else. Hope helps overcome fears and frustrations. Hope instills courage and motivation. In a small way, but very meaningful way this project contributes to a big cause: establishing global partnerships.

We are the Advanced Placement World History class at W.R.S. High in Keene, Tx. Our class has always talked about making a difference in the world and now, we're putting our words into action. As we sat in our class one day, discussing the diseases that plague our world, we talked about how lucky we are to have things like clean water, medication/vaccines, clothes, and shoes. Talking about this made us feel selfish, and we wondered what we could give to those who aren't as lucky as us.

United Youth Missions

When I founded this club, United Youth Missions, I knew and was ready to gather as much people to help me make a difference for the many impoverished families in Matamoros, Mexico. The sole mission of this club, is to gather as much supplies as possible to take to the families in Matamoros. Supplies ranging from canned goods to clothes are what are needed to take to these families.

Millions of people are effected by health issues; how are those who are healthy supporting those who are not? Sure donating money to one specific organization is helpful, but when there are so many why not spread the wealth?
