in my school there is too many people that do not agree with glbt [gay, lesbian, bi, or transgender] kids. on april 25th we participated in the day of silence, there was a threat of someone being killed because one of the kids didnt agree with what we were doing.

by getting this grant i hope to help the staff at first and then hopefuly help the student body by having a DPI certified person come to the school and talk to the school.

thank you for taking the time to read this,

There are many problems facing today's Teens, and among the largest is religious discrimination, the lack of religious rights, and amount of solid study sources for those wishing to follow an alternative Faith such as Paganism.
Project Pump

Project PUMP (People Uniting More People) is an organization started by six high school seniors as part of their service learning project. We decided we wanted to work with kids and help them reach their full potential after reading alarming statistics such as:
*Children living in the lowest 20% of income brackets are SIX times more likely to drop out of high school as those living in the highest 20%.
*Of the 7.1 million children who have at least one parent in jail 70% of them will in turn end up in prison themselves.

TAFFY

Two years ago, some friends and I started a group at our school called Tolerance, Acceptance, and Fairness for the Free-thinking Youth (TAFFY Club). The first year we had trouble with the school administration, and not much happened. This last year, however, went great. We now have 30 members, and we are still growing. We participated in "Mix It Up at Lunch Day", we had a fundraiser for orphans around the world, and we organized a community art show. We also discussed tolerance issues in our school during monthly meetings.

The goal of this program is to provide a safe, fun place for community teens to meet and study, use computers, watch tv., eat, and learn about tolerance and diversity. This room is a part of the Wetherington Boys and Girls Club in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Currently there is no place in the building provided for teens to meet. They have no teens who attend.
