Twice a month at a local playground, crafting materials will be set up for young children so that they can play at the park as well as create art for free. The crafts provided will be crafts that can be sucessful for all ages (such as painting "pet rocks", marble art, and weaving paper mats). A donation jar will be set out to help raise money for new art supplies, but no payment is necessary to participate.

Arroyo Seco is a small town in mountains of Northern New Mexico. In recent years, the town elementary school has closed, leaving the community children with out a park, playground, or play space.
We are raising money to build a circus themed children's play space and community mural next to the Seco Pearl Teahouse and Community Garden. The playground will house two trapeze bars, a safe-style tightrope, a few swings, and a huge play box with hula hoops, juggling balls, costumes, puppets, roli-bolis and more.

The Playground Project, for the kids at Crisis Ministries
Charleston, South Carolina
A few of my friends and I (we are six (6) yrs old) started a project to raise money for the homeless shelter and soup kitchen in Charleston. We think that every kid should have a playground, somewhere at the shelter to have some fun, laugh and play and just be kids. We have raised about $3,000 to build a nice playground but have $12,000 more to go to do it right.

I am raising money to build a new playground in our County Park. I have raised over $10,000 so far and plan to raise another $40,000 in the next 18 months. I have raised this money by doing fundraisers that not only raise money for the project but either help enhance childrens education, physical abilities or help the environment. Some of the projects I have worked on so far are a Harvest Festival Float and Booth. I have collected old ink cartridges, toners and cell phones and I am working currently on a Talent Show and a Read a thon.

Founded almost 3 years ago, Strategies for a Stronger Sanford is a local non-profit based in the old textile town of Sanford, Maine. We have been extremely productive and have kept focus on our main goal - to provide healthy life alternatives to Sanford's youth. Our many events consist of providing an after school program for children in grades 1-3, community dinners, and more recently a trip with more than twelve at-risk youth to see a Boston Celtics game.
However, our largest project has been to refurbish our towns under-utilized Carpentier Park.

I am a third grade teacher at a low income community school in Cleveland, OH. We have started building a playground with some previous grant money we earned. At the moment the children only have a black top to play on at recess. We had enough money to purchase a small playground with a slide and climbing equipment. I would really love to use this money to go towards a swing set for the playground or a tether ball. Our students do not have much already, it would be wonderful for them to come back from summer break to an exciting new playground.
