voting

Be prepared on election day. Voting is your right!

Earlier we told you about how the final hours before the election usually bring a wave of sneaky or suspicious phone calls, leaflets and emails aimed at keeping people away from the polls.

Joss Stone and other Brit rockers care about our election too!

Joss Stone is 21, which means she’s old enough to vote – just not in America.

No matter: "The U.S. election really does impact the entire world," the Brit said, and "while I can't vote in this country, I want to do what I can to inspire others, especially young voters, to make their voices heard.”

Bush reassures the American people

So we know that even teens are feeling the pinch amidst the current economic crisis, and earlier today President Bush spoke from the Rose Garden, trying to reassure the American people about the state of our economy. He seemed pretty confident given the current situation. Asserting that “we can solve this crisis,” he maintained that “we know what the problem is” and “we have the tools to fix it.” After the Dow continued to drop, a whopping 700 points this morning alone, he said the U.S.

McCain is opposed!

"Ahhh, I think I support the president's policy," McCain said.

When reporters asked McCain in the past whether the government should provide contraceptives or counseling on contraceptives, he replied, "You've stumped me."

Teen Pregnancy On The Campaign Trail

John McCain's VP nominee Sarah Palin announced today that her 17 year old daughter Bristol is 5 months pregnant. Palin also said that her daughter plans to marry the father of the baby and that she has the love and support of her parents.

America saw it's first increase (though small) in the teen pregnancy rate since it began dropping from a peak in 1991. Experts predict that over 750,000 teenage girls will become pregnant this year.

McCain to Pick a Woman for VP!

Ever heard of Governor Sarah Palin from Alaska? Yeah, neither had we. But in a huge shock to the GOP ticket, it looks like she'll be John McCain's running mate for the presidency!

McCain is totally trying to steal Barack's thunder from last night!

This is a huge shake-up to the Republican ticket, which was getting criticism for seeming stodgy and old compared to Barack Obama. It's also a clear attempt to go after moderate Democrats who miss Hilary.
