Shirts Across America is a non-profit organization dedicated to moving families out of FEMA trailers one family at a time in the Gulf Coast Region.
In January 2007, several high school students started the Hope Floats T-shirt campaign. Over 500 shirts were sold around Seattle and Washington state high schools.

Donation of at least 2 t-shirts at time of purchasing a high school Homecoming "bid." The donation will henceforth be an annual event which commenced this year through an idea formulated between friends and the assistance of personnel and student council at my high school. We successfully received a total of over 1500 t-shirts which were donated to a local area charity called "Tent City." I also helped distribute these shirts to the homeless the following weekend after our homecoming.

Please donate your “gently” used children’s clothes Kindergarten through 6th grade Jeans, pants, shirts, skirts, pajamas, winter hats, winter gloves, winter jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shoes, belts, hair ties, new socks, new underwear (boxers for the boys), new bras. Our goal is to provide at least one "gently used" complete outfit for each of the children at the Pappas School in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1989, a group of Phoenix firefighters arranged for 8 homeless children to attend a tutoring class in a local shelter. From there they moved to a nearby hotel.
