Fanista launched this month a campaign to expose the human rights abuses of Burma (now known as Myanmar) front and center into the realm of A-list celebrities to help encourage international pressure among one of the world's most oppressive dictatorships. The goal is to bring attention to the government's abuses, and educate the public on the current situation, aligning it with causes such as Tibet and Darfur.

Teenage suicide is something that concerns my friends and me, and it should be a huge concern nationwide. It is shocking how many teenagers think about and / or complete suicide. One in ten teens seriously considers suicide. Where I live, Colorado, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-34 years old. I think it is ridiculous that such a preventable cause of death has tripled among teenaged people in the U.S. over the past thirty years.

Last year I won several awards for a psa (video public service announcement) that i did for seatbelt use. This year I have been brainstorming and with a group of kids that have taken video journalism at their high schools, we plan to put out a series of teen-made public service announcements about problems close to us. So far we have drag racing, sexual harassment, drug abuse, underage drinking and school violence as topics. These 30s second messages will be distributed to school tv programs, broadcast television, cable tv and online tv.
