My husband has been making a differnece in out communuty and we are in need of safety mats for our karate school. We
(Tampa Bay Tang Soo Do Karate for Christ, Inc.) is a newly established, not-for-profit ministry with approximately 30 inner city children. The majority of these children are from low income families and are faced with daily peer pressures. Some of the kids are also faced with dyslexia and attention deficit disorder (ADD), or other economic and language based difficulties.

Students of the Mississippi-Vermont Community Comection class at Twinfield Union School in Marshfield, Vermont have been learning from a “Rights in Action” curriculum. It is a model that enables students to reflect, create and fulfill action plans while building a voice that empowers and is shaped by community. Imagine a new generation of citizen activists bridging our nation’s North and South divide, raising their voices on important public issues, and enlisting community leaders and educators as partners in the civic and political life of their communities.

Partnership of Habitat for Humanity of Kent County and ITT Technical Institute of Grand Rapids, MI

The goal of this project I have already started the works on is partnering ITT Technical Institute of Grand Rapids with Habitat for Humanity of Kent County, which is a non-profit organization. For a Partial or full sponsorship of a house to be built with the volunteerism of staff and students. So i hope that the project already in conception and seeking approval doesnt rule me out for the scholarship... I saw the Email right after i submitted the proposal to the Department chair and seeking the approval of the assoc. dean and then corporate.

RBYA: RANCHWOOD BASKETBALL YOUTH ASSOCIATION

THE RBYA: RANCHWOOD BASKETBALL YOUTH ASSOCIATION IS A PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES FITNESS, POSITIVE MOTIVATION, AND OVERALL STRUCTURE TO LOW-INCOME, DROPOUT, GANG ORIENTED, AND TROUBLED YOUTHS. THE RBYA MEETS EVERY SATURDAY MORNING. MEETINGS BEGIN WITH TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES AND MOTIVATIONAL STORIES. FUNDAMENTAL BASKTBALL DRILLS ARE THEN COORDINATED. STUDENTS ARE THEN DIVIDED INTO TEAMS FOR FITNESS DEVELOPMENT AND PRACTICE. THIS ALLOWS YOUTHS TO LEARN TEAM AND CO-WORK THEORIES AS WELL AS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN ORGANIZED SPORTS.
