See It: The Community being helped
A summer work and recreational pilot program for 12- of our most disadvantaged and emotionally neediest expelled students and their parent(s), grandparent(s). The program would serve as a pilot program leading to a larger annual Reach and Teach Summer "Reach Out"work camp where students work during the week to help their community, earn money to help pay their families/court bills, and have a fun vehicle that promotes healthy family communication and stronger family ties. This program will also keep these students off the streets and help to curtail gang activity in their neighborhood. Reach and Teach is a non-profit school for expelled students in Kalamazoo County. We work with the courts and surrounding school districts.
