We plan to create another housing cooperative focused on sustainability and social justice in Kalamazoo. We provide affordable, cooperative, and community-focused housing. Our organization will be committed to cooperation and democratic member control, advancing the cause of higher education, acting as a model for ecologically sustainable living, and community service and education that works toward social justice.
We came to this idea after seeing campus cooperatives around the country and learning that no alternative housing of this nature exists in Kalamazoo.

We are creating a sustainable recycling program at our school in order to increase our recycling efforts. By creating a single recycling collection unit that collects paper, plastic, and aluminum, we will be able to place a unit in every classroom, maximizing our recycling abilities. We hope to eventually spread this unit to other schools, and to help others learn about the benefits of recycling. Students and teachers will collect the recyclable goods, so everyone in our community will be involved.

Full size school bus converted to an RV ( we installed a dinette, 4 bunks or 2 bunk beds, storage cabinets, water tank, sink, propain stove, toilet, shower ). The bus is set up to run on used veggie oil collected from the oil dumpsters behind restaurants. Our plan is to study organic farming and sustainable living by traveling around the country. Their are two of us on the bus with 4 bunks, we plan to rotate other individuals to give other people the chance to share our experience.
