Generation Iraq ----- Generation Iraq is one of the few Western charities still operating in Iraq. It was founded in 2006 by a remarkable woman named Tamara Quinn. Tamara is an Iraqi-American who almost immediately after the fall of Baghdad got on a plane and traveled to Iraq for the first time in 30 years to see if she could help Iraqis recover from the war and decades of oppression under Saddam Hussein. While there, Tamara co-founded a women’s rights organization, worked with the Coalition Provisional Authority, and over time, developed a special interest in assisting Iraqi children.

Free culture at NYU is a chapter of a national student movement exploring the nature of innovation in the context of American Copyright law and media distribution. Free Culture is dedicated to the promotion of thoughtful and progressive discourse and debate, as well as relevant social activism. We stand behind the principles of a “common sense” approach to intellectual property rights as presented by Lawrence Lessig in his book “Free Culture”. We hope to serve those members of the NYU community with an intent in preserving an open exchange of creative issues.

The first interactive student leadership network in the world, the American Leadership Organization (ALO) exists to help students stand up for what they believe in and make positive change in society. Our goals: 1) To increase leadership dialogue and awareness by providing a forum and linking together all leadership conferences, departments, and entities on our website.
