dirty water

Code Blue

In this world today, when we get thirsty, we reach for a glass of iced water. Unfortunately, in third world countries, conquering thirst is not as easy as for us Americans. Myself, I believe that this is unjust, and that the stratifyed social structure of this world has left the less fortunate countries without water that is fresh, crisp, and clean. People living near the Po River in Italy, the Ganges River in India, the Kwale in Kenya, and Lake Maricabo in Venezuela, are just a few of the countries that have water sources being contaminated by pollutants.

Cup Campaign: Drink water to give water

In Africa every 15 seconds a child dies from dirty water. Over a billion people, half the population of Africa, lacks a clean drinking source. The Cup Campaign is a two week fund raiser in which participants drink nothing but water and donate any money that would have been spent on soft drinks, coffee, etc to building wells in Africa. One well provides a whole community with clean drinking water. With the average well only costing $3000, just $1 dollar can buy an African water for a whole year. The Cup Campaign is about drinking water to give water.
