recycling program

THE GREEN KING ORGANIZATION

Directly, I am attempting to solve the trash crisis in my school and community. Indirectly, on a grander scale through hard work, I am trying to save the planet. I want to make sure there IS someplace to work in the future. That we will all still be able to go outside to play. That we have nice clean air and water.

Operation Green

Reduce – Reuse – RECYCLE To Whom it May Concern, Do you care about promoting a positive and economical environment in your community? We do! A recycling program will be implemented here at Medina Valley High School! Within the coming weeks, a student will be dropping off a colorful recycling box to classrooms. These boxes are for collecting only paper waste. At the end of every week a student will be by to pick up the box and take it to the recycling bin across the street.

Recycling vs. Landfills: The Ecological Fight Is On!

Due to growing environmental and economical concern, I chose to conduct a study to determine the soundest choice for Americans to make when it came to their waste. My research shows that landfills could cause disease, pollution and global warming, whereas recycling helps us to reduce what is harvested by reusing what we already have. Since recycling had the better outcome, I decided to establish our towns recycling program ,by setting up a recycling drop-off center located downtown. There are two, 14x7 ft trailers that collect plastic and aluminum.

RRR making a difference

I believe recycling is important, and really it does not take much effort to make a difference. I recycle bottles, glass, cardboard, plastic containers, and of course cans. The advantage of recycling is that I only take the "garbage" out once a week (things that could not be recycled). When I reach my goal of six or seven bags of recycling each week , I dump it at the nearest recycling center on Pershing and Ashland, about a 8 minute drive. I feel good knowing I am making a difference for the world and my community. I plan to make a Reduce Reuse Recycle club at my high school very soon.
