Celebs Gone Good on VH1

So, how'd we look on TV? Last night was the television debut of CGG, when Top 20 Celebs Gone Good premiered on VH1, counting down the twenty most charitable celebrities of 2009. Months ago, we started with a list of 100 big stars who’ve shined this past year – actors, musicians, and athletes who’ve gone above and beyond to do good. From this 100, we left the voting up to you, and the 20 celebrities with the most votes made it to our countdown.

In case you missed it, here were the top 10:

USA Today

With the numerous celebrity gossip sites dishing daily on which celeb have gone wrong, it is refreshing to find that occasional story of a celeb gone good.

But for every story of a celeb doing something good for the world, you have to wonder, "Is this just for show or is this for real?"

Jolie-Pitt cycles change lives

In true do-gooder style, the Jolie-Pitt family welcomed an opportunity to help others when, in 2006, they donated the $4 million from selling daughter Shiloh’s baby photos to children in Africa.

About $10,000 of that money went toward purchasing bicycles (72 to be exact) for children living in northern Namibia. Now, three years later, the effects of the family’s donation are being documented in this week’s issue of Life & Style, and you won't believe how life changing these cycles have been!

How did she manage this press-free, entourage-free trip? We have no idea how, but we do know that the admirable actress spent a day with the troops at the Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington, D.C. last month.
