raising money

In the United Sates alone, an estimated 2.7 million animals in shelters are euthanized each year. Many of these animals are killed due to minor problems that include age, weight, and treatable ailments. For my Senior Project, I was a foster parent to these animals, where I not only helped save their lives, but also made them eligible for adoption.
To start my project, I met with the Foster Coordinator, Katie Black, and had an interview with her and my mother to become a foster parent. I started bringing home animals in need the same day.

When I was seven years old, i was diagnosed with cancer. Since I've been healthy and in remission I have participated in the Relay for Life in both Clarksville and Waverly, Tennessee.

After being inspired by the global concerts of Live 8 in 2005, Commuter Student Association (CSA) a club at Arcadia University decided to have a benefit concert of our own to help fight poverty. CSA is a small club at Arcadia with a small budget and few active members as a matter of fact there was only 3 of us that ran it. Plus not only that but none of us have ever put a concert together, for example we didn't even know what a PA system was or why it was important.

This idea started with the help of a group of girls at my school. We were all sitting at lunch one day and the idea came to us. I thought well, maybe this idea could really work! The idea was to try and inform teens that they should be safe and cautious when they're behind the wheel of a car. So we thought that we would stand at the end of the student parking lot and stop each student as they entered to give them each a sucker or SMARTs to help them start out the day! NOT, we were really actually checking to see if the students were wearing seat belts!

I plan to do a donation activity for safe driving practices. At my school prom is coming up. I'll make buttons and posters about safe driving habits. Then ill get permission from the administration to have a separate 2 dollar fee for anyone who wants to help our cause. An assembly for spirit week is coming up, not only will I mention this project but my educational outcome petition.
