Teen heartthrobs the Jonas Brothers have an army of teens hanging on their every adorable word. What to do with all that power?
They’re asking fans to volunteer – but not for just one cause. Instead, Nick, Joe and Kevin are working with DoSomething.org to make it easy for teens to find a wide variety of volunteering opportunities right in their hometowns.
The 2010 Do Something Awards took place on Monday night. The awards show is organized by DoSomething.org to celebrate young do-gooders, celebrities and organizations that have made a commitment to social change.
Two of the big winners for the evening included some popular musicians. The Jonas Brothers and Snoop Dogg were honored on stage in two important categories.
Last night, celebrities ascended on the red carpet and participated in the Do Something Awards, which has been called "the Oscars for young people in service" by CNN. The organization was started in 1993 by Andrew Shue, one of the stars of the original Melrose Place.
The big winner last night was 23-year-old Jessica Posner, who walked away with an award of $100,000.
We would like to give a big congrats to Jessica Posner for winning the $100k! We feel like a proud mother when we think about this young lady's accomplishments.
