The stars were certainly busting out of their cocoons to attend the Butterfly Ball benefitting not-for-profit Chrysalis, which gives employment opportunities to the homeless. Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, and Eva Mendes were in attendence, along with newlyweds Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were there as well, and Demi said before the event that "We love it, and we really believe in it." The event raised over $1 million, and each year Chrysalis helps more than 2,300 men and women.

Eva Mendes is the new face of PETA's winter anti-fur campaign. As an animal lover and the new anti-fur pin-up girl, Eva is speaking out against the cruel treatment of animals for the production of fur. The ad, which has Eva in her birthday suit, will be posted all over New York City. source

In her interview with PETA, Eva talks about the pressures in Hollywood to wear fur on the red carpet,

"I feel like in recent years, due to pop culture, fur has made a comeback. Some people still see wearing fur as glamorous and a sign of prosperity...I don't think you can force people to change their attitudes, but you can help to educate them and to lead by example. … There are way too many amazing faux fur options out there for people to still be wearing real fur."

Eva isn't the first celeb to go nude for the animal rights group, Pamela Anderson, Alicia Silverstone, and Christina Applegate have all shed their clothes in support of the cause.

I've been reading about Cartier's LoveCharity Bracelet promotion, allowing stars to choose a color and a charity designated specifically to them. The bracelets were then designed and created with proceeds going toward he appropriate charity. Last night was the gala event, and stars were glammed to the max.

The slight variations on the bracelets are broken down below. Choose your color or choose your charity . . . then be prepared to pay a pretty penny for the designer bauble!

Rihanna chose sea foam green, with donations going to Believe.

Djimon Hounsou chose a deep copper, with money going to SOS Children's Villages.

Eva Mendes has a navy bracelet, with donatins goin to the Art of Elysium.

Usher's is gold and prodeeds go to the New Look Foundation.

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw chose chocolate brown. Their proceeds go to the Neighbor's Keeper Foundation.

Elie Wiesel is letting his yellow go toward the Elie Wiesel Foundation.

Rachel Weitz is lilac with money going to The Constant Gardner Foundation.

And Julianne Moore chose lavendar, with proceeds benefitting the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance

Two of the attendees at this year's BRICK Awards showed up for another charity even this past week -- the Revlon Run/Walk for Awareness.

Mandy Moore and Fran Drescher were joined by Sheryl Crow, Jessica Alba, and Eva Mendes at walks that took place in both LA and NY. The event raised awareness and money for breast cancer research.
