This is a fundraiser bonfire for the Cambodian Children's Fund
There are so many poor children in Cambodia who do not have anywhere to go. They scrounge the streets for food and are constantly in danger. the money raised from this event will contribute to funds to build educational centers for these children. That way, these kids will have somewhere to go, somewhere safe and productive. After the khmer rouge invasion on cambodia, thousands, if not millions, of families were left in ruins. There are millions of children around the world who are being denied the chance of having a proper education that will help them succeed in life, and to help make a dent in that, I am focusing on the children of Cambodia. Please come out and support.

There will be live acoustic performances from local southern california bands.

$7 for both food and entertainment
$6 no food, you're bringing food for yourself
$5 if you bring food/SUPPLIES for the bonfire

Our goal is to start a fund that would help parents pay for sports equipment if they can't afford it, allowing all youth in Newmarket the ability to participate. We are also hoping to contact local businesses seeking donations of money and equipment for our funds. We are also planning to hold a fundraiser at UNH.

Mountain Fund Develops Microenterprise In Peru "Aynikuy", in Quechua means to help each other or to cooperate. Aynikuy is also the name of The Mountain Fund's new micro-finance program in Peru.

Why a micro-finance program in Peru?

The typical salary in Peru (if you can get a job) is about $150 per month. Families cannot live on so small an income so many families have started very small businesses as street vendors, small libraries, hardware shops, grocery shops, etc. These entrepreneurs do not have easy access to needed capital to purchase inventory, or to expand and improve their businesses. Banks ask for collateral which people do not have, or charge interest rates that are too high.

Who will benefit?

Street vendors and small family businesses are the intended recipients of our micro-loans. These are family businesses where the mother and children work together either to supplement the household income, or in many cases, this is the only income the family has. On nearly every street corner in Cusco there is a vendor with a cart selling soda, chips, nuts and fruit. Each day these vendors struggle to find funds to stock their carts so they have something to sell. The families typically have 3 or 4 children to support.
