Krafty Kids

Krafty Kids is a non profit organization in Miami, Florida. Our group consists of four high school freshmen, but new members are always welcomed. We believe that every child should have a memory of making something creative with their own hands, because everyone deserves to enjoy their childhood. We plan out and preform activities with the children in Miami's hospitals and we also donate money to St. Jude Research Hospital.

Kids Off The Block, a prominent community based youth organization in the Roseland Community of Chicago, IL, has ignited a passion across the city in response to an epidemic of youth violence that has claimed the lives of our children in the past year. We are embarking on our greatest challenge yet, the launching of our Citywide Campaign called “Save A Teen / Do Something”. This new Youth Anti-Violence Crime Prevention Campaign will develop sustainable processes and relationships that will address the violence, and social conditions that face youth in Chicago and across this nation.

Karate Outreach

My husband has been making a differnece in out communuty and we are in need of safety mats for our karate school. We
(Tampa Bay Tang Soo Do Karate for Christ, Inc.) is a newly established, not-for-profit ministry with approximately 30 inner city children. The majority of these children are from low income families and are faced with daily peer pressures. Some of the kids are also faced with dyslexia and attention deficit disorder (ADD), or other economic and language based difficulties.

Canaseraga Summer Recreation Program

For this project a partner and I planned a two week summer recreation program for children ages 3 to 6th grade. We did this project because our local program was in jeopardy of losing funding because no one had done the program in a while. My partner planned one week and I planned the other week. Each day of each week there was a different theme (ie. fun in the sun, fire safety, field games). On the very last day of the program, we took the kids swimming at James St. Park in Hornell New York.

We are a brother and sister who have been able to go many places and see many things. Sometimes when we see, or hear about other kids who don't have what we enjoy, we want to help. We love to play with stuffed animals, they make us feel good, and we love to read. When kids in America finish with bears and books, they just give them away and sometimes they are wasted. We are collecting all these books and bears (or other animals) and sending them to other kids who don't have an animal to hold or a book to read. The mission of The Birthday Party Project is to celebrate the lives of children who are living in marginalized communities or suffering from recent emotional trauma through bimonthly surprise birthday parties and other forms of appreciation. We reach out to children who are in transitional living; in single-parent or foster homes; immigrants and refugees, etc. We hope that our efforts illuminate the transformative, healing power that is the joy of inclusion.
