Save Our School and Planet!!! S.O.S.P’s mission is to try and save the environment, save the school, and create awareness about environmental issues.
One way we plan to accomplish our mission is to make our school more environmental by planting trees and flowers around our local area (our school for example). Planting trees in your community really is one of the best things you can do for your environment- and the planet!

I have always wanted to be a giving part of my community. In church, I always learned that we should get out and do something, but we never went anywhere. I wanted to volunteer at the local children's hospital, garden, clean up the parks, and more but never knew how to get started.
Now, I'm a girl scout leader. Our troop started last year with no funds, but big ideas. We are a crew of 35 1st-5th graders and two 13 year-olds, and we wish to make a difference in our community.

The Sullivan Middle School Garden aims to increase healthy habits amongst the students at Sullivan Middle and the surrounding community and to promote positive and safe associations with outdoor space to increase its use for physical activity. These goals will be reached through using the garden as a gathering space to engage in a dialouge about the important health issues affecting the community, and through the implementation of hands-on nutritional education activities involving the garden.

Students plant herbs for sustainability and their campus food service.
Otterbein students in conjunction with Bon Appetite Food Service have begun an potted herb garden to plant the beginning seeds of sustainability. In the tripartite model of Sustainability; communities, economies, and the environment work hand in hand together to live in equal harmony.
This garden is an example of this model. The community- the Otterbein students- grow the plants for the meals they'll eat. This lowers the price of meals because food does not have to be shipped into Westerville city.

1.Food Security Now! is a citizen centered approach aimed to cultivate a greater understanding of our food security needs in downtown Lewiston. The process will bring together partners representing diverse populations of the downtown in order to create concrete action steps to strengthen our local food system. Food Security Now! will address the need for low-income consumers to have improved access to affordable nutritious food year-round, and the need to connect low-income consumers to local farmers.
