There are millions of people who are overweight in the United States. It seems every generation is getting bigger and bigger, I dont mean in population i mean in weight. I am only 17 i weight 98 pounds and im 5'1 and i eat healthy and exercise, but there is this one girl who is 10 years old she is about 4'9 and she weights over 110. So whats wrong with that picture, this little girl plays out side and everything but she doesn't eat healthy food or exercise daily. It also seems there are more and more fast food places and more fast food commercials.

To get my local community, friends, and family involved in a healthy lifestyle that will change lives and futures. By changing habits and perceptions of healthy daily living, we can do it together. Neighborhood activities would include night walking groups or hikes, to family health fun fares (potato sack races, bobbing for apples, healthy snack booths etc), holiday themed activities, and basically activities that are low to no cost and available to the majority and best of all fun. It should improve lifestyle and family relationships to sense of happiness and well being.

Hill Country Starling's Volleyball Club.
Finally an alternative to the expensive "Club" volleyball system. I have been fortunate to have parents who could afford to pay the thousands of dollars that it cost to play competitive volleyball. Unfortunately I have seen hundreds of girls less fortunate than myself.
Judging by their raw athletic ability, I have no doubt that many of these girls could have become impact players and possibly earned college scholarships.

Increase participation and improve the quality of the intramural soccer program at Timberview Middle School in Colorado Springs, CO. We want to teach students how to fight obesity by learning healthy lifestyle habits such as playing a sport, meeting new people, and setting goals.
Below is our school website with information regarding our current soccer program.

In October 2006, Human Preservations Society was started by myself and my friend Larisa Chavez. Our goals for this organization was to promote healthy living in people by showing them how modifying their daily habits in small and seemingly insignificant ways, can make a difference in the deterioration that the world is facing today.
Typical ways that we raise money for our cause (which include donating to GreenPeace and local organizations)includes: bake sales (we raised over $250 selling all-organic and vegan baked goods to people in the community.
