The Angels We See (TAWS)

We are looking for people to help us get on our feet to help/support ALL of the children in foster care. Most of the time, it's not the kids' fault that they were put into foster care, we want to support ALL children more so they can live the most normal life possible. we know that the county/government pays so much money per month, but it's NOT ENOUGH! we want to earn money so we can respond to individual needs rather than, "most children need these things..." We want to give to each individual what they need.

Coat Drive "One Warm Coat"

My Girl Scout troop is having a coat drive (used coats in good condition). We will collect coats from home, family, friends, and we will have a collection box at our elementary school. The coats will be donated to Carrollton's Metrocrest Social Services Center (http://www.metrocrestsocialservices.org/). A local dry cleaner has donated their services - They will clean all donated coats for no charge. The Metrocrest Social Services Center will hand out the coats at their December Christmas Store. The store is set up for low income families.

The Be Positive Do Something Positive Day-March 1, 2009

Many Americans today are in a state of emotional crisis. The continual barrage of gloom and doom and trauma and drama news has left many Americans in a state of emotional shock or feeling fearful and numb. According to The Conference Board consumer confidence is at an all time low. Statistics from the Disaster Center indicate that the overall crime rate is the highest it has ever been in the history of our nation. The U.S. Department of Justice reports that bullying in our nation's schools has been on the increase in recent years.
