I will be collecting new boxes of Crayons and monetary donations to donate to the children in CHOC.
(Children's Hospital of Orange County)

Play experiences can help children to cope and adjust to illness and hospitalization. Play is one way the CHOC and CHOC at Mission Child Life Specialists meet the developmental, psychosocial, emotional, and educational needs of our patients.

Put a Smile on!

Starting on April 26th, 2008 we will be going to local hospitals, nursing homes, senior citizens centers, The Pittsburgh Children's Hospital and other places to put on plays, skits, talent shows and more to make our audience laugh and enjoy life! During some shows we will share a bible story with the people and we will give away stuff. We look forward to putting on costumes just to put a smile on the people that we are trying to entertain and we hope that you will join us to entertain someone who needs a smile in their day!

Kilimanjaro: Climbing to Cure

Ascending Africa's highest mountain to provide medical supplies for Tanzania!

In the summer of 2008, I will be journeying to Kenya on a study abroad program through Michigan State University. After this program, I'm going to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain at 19,340 feet. I am doing this not only for personal reasons; I am climbing to benefit the people of East Africa.

We've Beanie There Too

When I was a month old I was diagnosed with a birth defect. My major pectoral muscle is missing, along with one and a half of my ribs, one third of my shoulder blade and lung, and most of the muscle in my arm, all on my right side. It's the same thing as when a kid is born with only a stubb where his arm should be. I'm really lucky. At about six years old I was accepted into the program at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Los Angeles. It's this free hospital for kids with birth defects.

Project Pediatrics

I have been working to raise money to purchase books and DVDs for teenagers in the pediatrics ward at my local hospital. My focus is teenagers because most people think of young children in the pediatrics ward, not preteens and teens. Hopefully I'll be able to move on to more hospitals after this one.

Music 4 Kidz

MUSIC 4 KIDZ works towards building the community through the sharing of musical interests with children who are in the hospital. What would you do if you were a child in the hospital? How else would you spend your time after watching hours of television and reading numerous books?

The Student Project Africa Network (SPAN)

Our generation is poised in a unique position to tackle some of the greatest challenges of our time through direct action. Yet the talents of many of our most highly motivated future leaders are unable to reach African non-profit and non-governmental organizations due to a host of barriers. Businesses exist to place volunteers in some of these organizations, but they are prohibitively expensive for most students, and many are insensitive to the needs of the communities they work within.
