Project Description
This project consists of two parts.
It’s dedicated to all those senior citizens that are put in Home Centers because their family members don’t have time to spend caring for them. Most of these senior citizens don't have consecutively visits from family members, or no visits. They, as well as everybody, need to feel someone cares about them; they need someone to play with, talk with, and spend valuable and unforgotten time with. This project would stimulate teens to spend time with older people. Just play board games, ask about their past, dance with them, make jokes, etc. Anything that would make senior citizens feel loved.
I-Each teen would be granted a specific senior citizen to spend a specific amount of days with. After the experience, each of them (the volunteer and the senior citizen) will be asked questions about the experience. Hopefully the senior citizen will feel thrilled and excited and the teens would like to keep volunteering with other senior citizens.
II-Each teen will be given a task for fundraising. Some will be to recollect throughout the neighborhood home supplies: hygiene products, clothes, blankets and pillows. These items will be given to the home center administration to hand it to the senior citizens. Other teens will be told to recollect fun items such as board games, radio with music CDs, etc. And other teens will be asked to sell fundraising items: chocolates, catalogues, etc.
All that is raised will be given and used for the senior citizens benefit.
