When rapper/actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges threw a charitable bash at a Ralph Lauren store in Georgia to raise money for his foundation, superstar friends (like the glamorous Fergie and Rich Boy) came out in full support.

The Ludacris Foundation has raised over half a million dollars since 2001 to benefit youth programs. His group’s motto is “helping youth help themselves.”
Hmm…sound familiar? Do Something is with you on that one, Luda.
CGG also checked out the Crash star's new film Ball Don’t Lie this past weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival; in a life-imitates-art move, he plays a mentor to a teen victim of a faulty foster care system.

Based on the popular novel by Matt De La Peña, who co-wrote the script with Director Brin Hill, Balls Don't Lie is an urban coming-of-age tale. While trying to overcome his lonely childhood, Sticky is tormented by OCD, and only finds salvation when creating hoop magic on the courts of Venice Beach. BDL also stars Nick Cannon, Rosanna Arquette, and streetball-star Grayson "The Professor" Boucher as Sticky.
With its amazing basketball sequences and heart-pounding soundtrack, this tale of one boy's discovery of his place in the world connects on so many levels, which is why it's a CGG Must-see!
In an interview with Glamour magazine, Fergie chats about her former drug addiction, loving her body, and using self-help tricks to stay happy and motivated.

Along the way, she has realized that she doesn't need to be the skinniest girl on the block: "I have learned more and more to enjoy my body when I have a few extra pounds on, just being more voluptuous."
|
In the interview, Fergie opened up about her former drug habit. When she was 25, she lied to her Wild Orchid bandmates to cover up that she was using crystal meth, was it the drugs that made her lie? "Oh, completely--drugs make you lie. But honestly, in the beginning, I liked the fact that at first [the drugs] made me thinner. I did have a secret joy about that. But that lasted for about a month. And then all of a sudden I was too skinny. I lost my curves. My face was very gaunt. So I would go [out to eat and] get practically everything on the menu..."
After discussing her past, Fergie tells her secret on how she stays balanced: "I keep a journal. I like myself better when I just pour it out. It's easier sometimes, even if you write on a piece of paper and then tear it up, just to vent it out. Because in the past I have sometimes used interviews as therapy, and then I've regretted it because I'm going, 'Wait a second, that is not for the world to know. That's for me to know.'"
Take a tip from Fergie, keeping a journal is a great way to stay happy and balanced. Head over to the Do Something website to learn more tips for healthy living!

Fergie likes her makeup. She was a natural choice to be the newest face of MAC’s VIVA GLAM lip gloss campaign. In case you don’t know, 100% of the retail sale goes toward the MAC AIDS Fund, which has so far raised over $100 million. In Fergie's own words:
| “Half of all new HIV/AIDS infections are in people under 25 and it is important to get the message out to all young people to be educated and understand the risks of HIV/AIDS. I want to bring more attention to this issue and my music allows me to reach the youth that are potentially at risk.” |
This cause is so important. Did you know infection rates are on the rise in the US again? AIDS has become the number ONE cause of death for African-American women age 25-34 in America! So frightening! Good news is it's entirely preventable.
Seriously get informed and get tested.
The Duchess even remixed her hit “Glamorous” to a club beat, calling it “VIVA-Glamorous.” You can download it here for free.

Maybe some other celebs will start donating their swanky rides to a good cause?? Or ditching this Hummer obsession altogether? Who knows . . . maybe a Hello Kitty bike trend with sweep Tinseltown!
