The Mistreat of Performance Enhancing Substances by High School Athletes

An alarming problem in our community today is the mistreat of performance enhancing substances by high school athletes. These substances are available over the counter. Performance enhancing substances include dietary supplements, prescription medications and illicit drugs. These substances are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are widely available. Today, high school athletes and teenagers who exercise and want to get in shape are using these supplements because they believe that these substances will enhance their athletic skills and improve their performance.
