Project Description
P.R.O.J.E.C.T.: T.E.E.N.S. which stands for Peers Reaching Out Joined to Empower the Community Together thru Training, Education, Employment, Networking and Support is a nonprofit organization of teens founded by teens for the empowerment of teens. Our purpose is to help teens define and design themselves. P.R.O.J.E.C.T.: T.E.E.N.S. was started by teens who believed they could make a difference by reaching out and helping other teens to create themselves, joining with those teens to figure out what tools they needed to help them to be successful and empowering other teens to define and design their own path way to personal success. Our Mission is Empowerment in three ways: To Empower Teens, To Empower Themselves and To Empower the Community.

Tri-County Graduation Party
On June 7, 2008, P.R.O.J.EC.T.: T.E.E.N.S. will host a city-wide Graduation Party for all graduating seniors of 2008 and the soon to be seniors of the class of 2009. It will also be a resource fair with information available to students on jobs, internships, colleges and other important resources.
Serve It Up 2008 (Teen Empowerment and Service Conference)
A showcase of youth businesses from around Detroit, as well as many other fun and entertaining activities including a stage-play, youth town hall meeting, balloon launch, games, contests, prizes and much more.
C.I.R.C.K.L.E. (Connecting Ideas and Resources; Creating Kids to Lead and Empower)
C.I.R.C.K.L.E. will be youth group dialogue sessions that will bring youth together from different areas and backgrounds to discuss and address problems in the community. As a result of the sessions youth will create and implement businesses, organizations or other projects to address the issues. C.I.R.C.K.L.E. will also teach grant-writing classes to youth to enable them to receive funding for to start their organizations.
T.E.A.R.S (Teens Eyes and Ears Anonymous Reporting System)
T.E.A.R.S. is a youth initiative to teach youth how to answer tips or reports on crime from youth and as well as train youth to go into schools to encourage other youth to report crime and express to them they are aiding the community and making it safer for everyone when they report crime.
