See It: The Community being helped

In San Luis Obispo County there are many school-aged children. The majority of these students choose to ride in cars or buses to get to and from school. I would like to see more of these students walking to school each day. Many live in the same neighborhoods and close enough to school that they could walk there together. The grant could allow these students to see the health and environmental benefits that can come from walking to school. We could help bring awareness to the city officials if paths are not safe enough, cross walked unmarked, sidewalks not in place, etc.
Studies have shown that students that get some form of exercise are more alert in school and overall achieve more than those that don't. I love my county and want to see the next generation grow up healthy, safe, and happy. Thank you.
