A Grim Reality and Our Mission: Being homeless is a grim and unimaginable situation to some, but an all too real reality to others. People who are homeless in today’s society are written off and are given very little beneficial help. Although organizations do exist that are dedicated to helping the homeless, their services are not sought by many of the homeless community because of the involvedness of receiving assistance. Carts for the Homeless aims to offers a huge advance in quality of life for the homeless people of Los Angeles with a one time only request for assistance. CFTH will provides homeless people with a functioning, durable cart with features such as a pull out tarp for rain, a water basin, and a lockable mechanism so their belongings are not stolen, all designed with their lifestyle in mind. Our Vision: Unlike many homeless help centers, which aim to mainstream these individuals into society, CFTH realizes that this goal is not always the best option for some homeless individuals. At Carts for the Homeless, our vision is to create a cart capable of making a significant difference in the life of a homeless person, by providing them with reliable solutions to all the basic needs that are so difficult to meet when living on the streets. Scope: Carts for the Homeless is going to make one dozen carts, and subsequently distribute these carts to twelve homeless people. By doing this we hope to make the lives of people living in the homeless community easier.
