See It: The Community being helped

Unfortunately, an increased number of natural tradgedies and disasters has led to a large decline of donations within the local area. To combat this problem, we want to push "Earcandy for the Hungry", an organization to fight hunger and ignorance within our school and community.

Fortunately, our community is largely known for its love of music. Our plan is to record several of the best of the local, teen musical artists in a professional recording studio, most preferrably with a theme about hunger and helping each other, so their peers could at least be enlightened by the music.

With the recordings, we would like to produce about 100 CDs to sell, but here's the twist: the students would have to "buy" the CD's with food cans and other non-perishable items that we could donate to the local food bank. Our hope is that the students and the people in our community may become more informed of the state of hunger that is also evident in our area, and through the exchange, we hope to teach our customers with the joy of giving to help the community.

Reactions in our school have been positive, as local bands and artists have already expressed their interests.
