HealthCare Volunteer (http://www.healthcarevolunteer.com)

Project is aimed at linking anybody with a volunteering opportunity in Health care or medicine or dentistry. We are creating the world's largest listing of health care volunteering opportunities. We are now looking for young minds who would like to start their own volunteering project in their local community or abroad. We are also looking for people to start their own local chapter of HealthCare Volunteer in their community so that we can help get more people involved in health care whether or not they have any medical training at all.

Youth Encouraging Support (Y.E.S.)

Hailing from Kearney, NE, Brandon Fletcher won a BRICK Award in 2004 for his work promoting awareness of mental health challenges. Diagnosed with learning disabilities, Brandon founded Youth Encouraging Support (Y.E.S.) to support kids with mental health challenges and shatter the stereotypes and stigma associated with mental illness.

Urban Justice Center

2000 BRICK Award winner Heather Barr worked as a Staff Attorney at the Urban Justice Center in New York City. A formerly homeless teen, Heather wrote a definitive report on the incarceration of people with mental illness, filed a successful lawsuit to compel New York City to provide discharge planning for 30,000 inmates with mental illness each year. She also co-founded the Nathaniel Project, the nation’s first alternative to incarceration program for felony offenders with serious mental illness.
