I am a Freshman at Georges Valley High School in Thomaston, Maine. I am currenty in the Knox County Explorers Post 911. I am trying to get help with funding so that I can attend the 2008 Maine Youth Law Enforcement Academy in Vassalboro Maine. The Knox County Explorers are a group of young adults from 14-21 years of age that are learning about a career path in law enforcement. We are also required to do 100 hours of community service per year. I am asking for a grant of $500. 00 or what ever you may be able to do, would be greatly appreciated. Last May, Oxford Academy FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and Non-Traditional Media started the Annual Dodgeball Tournament in the community to raise awareness and funds for STANDUP FOR KIDS-Orange County, a nationally acclaimed organization dedicated to the rescue of homeless and street kids. All proceeds benefit their on-going efforts to build a Youth Outreach Center in Orange County by the Fall of 2008.
